Testimonials

"A fantastic course. This program has really complemented our existing knowledge in equality and disability, and in meeting the needs of all our students" (Elspeth Mackie, Leeds College of Art)

"The session went very well, and the feedback from staff was overwhelmingly positive. Staff thought that the session was very helpful, that it was engaging and interesting and that Jeanette was an excellent trainer. One member of staff qualified the session as 'brilliant'. Everyone thought that Jeanette was amazing at keeping our interest for almost 3 hours and for making us think of serious issues in a fun way without needing any props!" (Catherine Lauriol, library officer, Birkbeck University).

"Memnos was great. I had excellent feedback from the session and everyone was impressed at how effectively he presented and many came back saying they'd like to be as good as him! Memnos has a way of inviting us into his world which is so incredibly welcoming and open. I look forward to him training a new group on Friday!" (Tatiana Pavlovsky, Hackney Learning Trust).

Discover, the library search tool, is the simple way to search for relevant books, e-books, journal articles, databases and more.

This session will show you how to access a range of resources and make the best use of the features of Discover, including advanced search, saving searches and items and creating search alerts.

So, if you are not sure how or where to start, or if you want to learn how to get better search results then this is the session for you.

There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout the session.

This class will take place in Teams and a link will be sent out to attendees on the day of the event.

Please note this session is for staff only.

Panopto is LJMU’s institutional video recording and management system, that greatly simplifies the process of media creation and sharing through an easy to use set of tools and secure integration into Canvas course spaces. Panopto can be used for a number of applications including sharing of short video messages by tutors, recorded lab demonstrations, narrated PowerPoints, live broadcasts, student presentations, video assignments and lecture capture. Video allows staff to support diverse student needs and rethink how programmes are delivered such as ‘flipped’ teaching and broadening the range of ways that students engage with their learning. Additional parts of the system allow built-in quizzing, captioning and group notetaking.

The main staff guide for Panopto is available at https://ltech.ljmu.ac.uk/?page_id=159

The Teaching and Learning Academy may have to cancel this session at short notice if there are insufficient attendees.
